Gianluca Giabardo is a designer, researcher and educator with an international background of studies in Industrial Design and Business. He has been working as a duo with Livia Rossi at Dossofiorito, the studio they co-founded, between 2012 and 2018.
Their practice has mainly been focusing on exploring and experimenting on the relationship with “others” non-human beings (especially plants) through objects, installations, and workshops with kids and adults.
In 2018 they moved to Finland where Gianluca has been a teacher and designer in residence at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. There, in 2020, he was admitted to the Doctoral School where he is researching symbiotic conviviality. In this practice-led work, he will investigate manifestations of care, co-existence, and co-survival of human and non-human actors with(in) bread baking practices toward symbiotic and convivial societal forms.
