Artistic and research interests

Dr.Sci.(Tech) Elina Kähkönen made her first career in an international chemical industry company. Her field is chemical engineering with the major in applied microbiology. Her Doctoral research (2007-2011) focused on the interaction between sustainability guidance and product development in the chemical industry. Since 2013 she has been a head of the Aaltonaut minor program. The Aaltonaut program has been the forerunner of interdisciplinary education in Aalto at Bachelor’s level. Since Aug 2021 she has lead a strategy implementation project which stives to integrate the cross-cutting themes of Aalto University; Solutions for Sustainability, Entrepreneurial Mindset, and Radical Creativity in education.
