Societies everywhere are currently undergoing transformational changes, largely driven by technological progress. What we see happening is potentially much more than just the use of technology making work and organisations more effective and more productive. We stand at the verge of a fourth industrial revolution—one that will substantially change the way in which people work in the future. The ongoing and expected disruption of work—and consequently, its management—is of such scale that it requires research with multidisciplinary and multi-method approaches in close and dialogical cooperation with practitioners and policy makers. The Future of People Management research program, including the two sister projects Brave New HR and Exponential, is a continuation from our previous successful research projects on strategic people management, building on the projects’ legacy and now focusing on investigating and unpacking these ongoing changes.
