Global forest extent (year 2000) and loss (total of years 2000-2012) data at 30 arc-second resolution from the research article ‘Forest Loss in Protected Areas and Intact Forest Landscapes: A Global Analysis’, which includes a full description of the data creation process. The here provided data are derived from data published in the study ‘High-Resolution Global Maps of 21st-Century Forest Cover’.
