Salvaged Lumber for Structural Mass Timber

Press/Media: Media appearance

Description

The Department of Civil Engineering at Aalto University in Finland tested salvaged lumber for structural mass timber in 2022. The results, overall, demonstrated the potential for effective reuse of short, salvaged timber elements in DLT fabrication without the need for excessive processing or gluing. This research offers an alternative approach for mass-laminated timber elements to be made with salvaged timber materials but without significant processing.
