Phd Seminar Keynote

Activity: Talk or presentation typesConference presentation

Description

This event is sponsored by the BCS and hosted by the Child-Computer Interaction Group (ChiCI) at UCLan. It will be held at the UCLan Preston City Campus. The event coincides with a PWS@PHD Erasmus+ network event taking place at UCLan, also hosted by the ChiCI group, and this will be a good opportunity to network with PhD students from other countries.

The event is free for PhD students. On 22nd February Scott MacKenzie (York University Toronto) will be delivering his Empirical Research Methods course which runs annually at CHI and NordiCHI (further information can be found at https://youtu.be/XqCvpcr3L6E and http://www.yorku.ca/mack/chi2016b.pdf). HCI and UX industry expert John Knight (Aalto University of Arts, Design and Architecture and Avanade London Digital Studio) will be giving a keynote talk after lunch, titled ‘Post-digital Bauhaus: Exploring HCI education in a post-digital world’.

Places need to be booked in advance on EventBrite. Further details will be provided closer to the time of the event. Please contact Dan Fitton (dbfitton@uclan.ac.uk) with any queries. A map of the UCLan Preston campus can be found here and travel directions here. Draft program:
