Child-Centred Algorithmic Literacy: Using participatory and speculative design for critical and inclusive learning
Notions of Artificial Intelligence (AI) are becoming increasingly familiar to children in different forms. However, children, especially those from less privileged backgrounds, are unable to access or affect any change in this now omnipresent technology due to varied levels of algorithmic literacy. Participatory and speculative design can be seen as methods that can explore new narratives, opportunities and challenges in engaging children in critically examining and visualising alternative technological futures.
