Description

In this time of big transformations, we transform NODUS TALKS online. We invite participants to explore emergent social transformations in relation to climate change through group-work methods in an online setting. We use improvised theatre and futures thinking to facilitate conversation and open up unforeseen approaches to the complex problems of climate change.

NODUS TALKS series is organized by the NODUS Sustainable Design Research Group of Aalto University, bringing together researchers and practitioners on topics relevant to design, innovation and sustainability. Presentations and discussions will be held in English.

MERJA RYÖPPY is an actor and a PhD research fellow at the University of Southern Denmark and a visiting researcher at Aalto University. She employs participatory theatre methods in design processes to understand the ongoing social and material relations among people, products and objects.

AMOS TAYLOR is a futurist and researcher at Finland Futures Research Centre, University of Turku. His research considers the coming transformations for the next 100 years and the ethical decisions that arise for society and the planet. His work explores highly participatory and creative approaches to engage alternative futures.
