Description

The development and propagation of damage in quasi-brittle materials, like hydraulic concrete, is a relevant and current issue in infrastructure research. Although a homogeneous approach to model the material is a practical and helpful simplification, in this study we are concerned with the additional information that may be obtained when trying to approach the material as heterogeneous, i.e. acknowledging that its mechanical properties change in space.
