Taidekirppis presents “Live at Taidekippis”. The project will create a platform for artists and other cultural workers based in Finland to present their practice through online streaming from their laptops. The invited artists, curators, musicians or cultural workers will have a one-hour live show which they can utilize in the form of a musical or non-musical performance, talk, discussion, lecture, presentation, etc…Due to the current situation with the epidemic, this live feed would be performed either at the home or place of quarantine of each person. We hope to continue these sessions also with in-house audiences after the limitations in gatherings are lifted.
Our third live session will feature Anna Jensen.
Anna Jensen is a curator, artist, writer, researcher and feminist based in Helsinki. She has MA’s in Aesthetics in the University of Helsinki and in Arts in Visual Culture in Aalto University. At the moment she is doing her PhD about art as a place for producing and mediating knowledge and as a site for creating and exploring communities. Most of the time she does not know what she is doing, but it is ok, as she believes in openness, intuition and is working with nonknowledge and uncanny. Jensen’s practice is often process-based, collective and site-specific, and dear lord she misses places and working together with people in places. Jensen is a founding and active member of Porin kulttuurisäätö, known for Pori Biennial, Sandstorm and Pori World Expo, and they have been running an interdisciplinary and site-specific project called Space Invaders with Eliisa Suvanto since 2013. With Andrea Coyotzi Borja they have lowered their expectations with the How to Life venture since 2018. Her work is kindly supported by Kone Foundation.
For her live session Anna Jensen will re-pot plants and talk about things.
