  • Juanjo Galan Vivas (Speaker)

Activity: Talk or presentation typesConference presentation

Description

From an anthropocentric point of view, all colonized landscapes are transformed and managed for productive purposes… may those be material, spiritual or a combination of both.
“… Noting that developments in agriculture, forestry, industrial and mineral production techniques and in regional planning, town planning, transport, infrastructure, tourism and recreation and, at a more general level, changes in the world economy are in many cases accelerating the transformation of landscapes;… Wishing to provide a new instrument devoted exclusively to the protection, management and planning of all landscapes in Europe” (European Landscape Convention)
Accepting that Globalization and Global Drivers of Change impose new and inevitable conditions in the evolution of landscapes, this presentation includes a set of examples from Aalto University courses or projects in which those Drivers were used to respond to the specific biophysical and cultural conditions of a particular place (conciliation of Globalization and Localization).
