Is academic time out of joint? Today’s research landscape is shaped by multiple temporal forces pushing research to be reflected internally and externally — political pressures, performance metrics, technological advancements (including AI) and the growing demand for impactful research. These factors influence academic integrity, research practices and the outcomes we produce. But how should we understand and navigate these shifting dynamics?

Our goal is to foster dialogue on how the academic community perceives and responds to these challenges, shaping the future of research. We have invited guests who have agreed to bring their perspectives to the conversation: Associate Professor Myrto Chliova, Professor of Practice Sami Itani, Professor of Practice Marco Steinberg and University Researcher Johanna Vuorelma.
