Description

The Design Futures course explores the various ways in which design and futures fields intersect. In this hands-on course, during Spring 2022, the students were challenged to create future scenarios demonstrating how the fashion system should be like in 25 years if our lifestyles change in accordance with the 1.5 degrees Celsius target. In this exhibition, we present these future scenarios communicated through short videos and the “artefacts from the future” created by the students materially representing the imagined futures. The students were supervised by Namkyu Chun, University Lecturer in Design Communication, and İdil Gaziulusoy, Associate Professor of Sustainable Design whose joint expertise cover systemic transformations for sustainability, critical and creative foresight, fashion design and visual communication.
