Description

We show that many decision rules exhibit rank reversals if there is
incomplete information about the decision maker’s preferences and
the two (hypothetical) alternatives for normalizing the additive multiattribute
value function are replaced by other alternatives. As a remedy,
we determine what rankings the alternatives can attain for value
functions that are consistent with the stated preference information and
illustrate the use of such rankings in decision support
